Weekend Getaways! Rangeley, ME
was worth the long haul. One of the more picturesque places I've visited in awhile. There weren't a ton of folks hiking about during the golden hour which made the experience that much sweeter. A little ways from the visitor parking lot are some subtle breathtaking views.
Next time I'll be sure to pack a small snack, a bathing suit, and more lenses. Bring your tennis shoes! I navigated the terrain in my berks and managed to make it out fine. I tell you what though, I was going pretty slow and tender while cradling the camera.
When we cruised back to the cabin we stopped at Rangeley Scenic Overlook to view the sun setting over Rangeley Lake. The stone wall barred tourist from a rolling hill of wildflowers and rocks. What caught my eye was the parade of yellow and blue flowers. I couldn't take a picture of the view until I closed in on these beauties.
What made the getaway all the more sweet was Loon Lake. Mid August was the perfect time to take in the warm lake without swatting black flies. We lucked out a few times and saw a pocket of Loons on the lake! Instead of running back to grab my camera (why did I put it away?) I watched them from fifteen feet away from the dock.
